Meals: quesadillas, grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, miso soup, instant ramen/udon/noodle bowls, PB&J on tortillas or bread, canned chili with cheese/salsa/chips, black bean burgers, tasty bites (Indian curry pouches) with minute rice and naan, hummus with pita/cucumber/peppers. My partner who eats meat also likes to have pre-cooked bacon, pre-cooked sausages and hot dogs when we go camping.
Snacks/Breakfast: your own stash of cereal and shelf-stable milks (especially if you sleep past breakfast like I do), pop tarts, muffins, bagels and cream cheese, yogurt cups, pudding cups, baby carrots and ranch dip, cherry tomatoes, fresh fruits that are easy to eat (no/minimal prep) like strawberries, blueberries, cherries, grapes, apples, bananas and clementines/cuties, applesauce cups, crackers and cheese (even EZ-cheez, which I find kinda gross at home is strangely delicious in the desert), dried fruit, nuts, trail mix, jerky, hard-boiled eggs, granola bars, protein bars, peanut butter pretzels, salty chips, really anything salty to prevent dehydration, PICKLES and pickled everything!
Drinks: bottled/canned coffee drinks, sodas both with and without caffeine, iced tea, lemonade, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, sparkling water, coconut water, kombucha, electrolyte drink mixes, instant hot cocoa packets, instant hot apple cider packets, fresh lemon/lime to add to water and other drinks, cheap-ish beer and expensive-ish vodka. Yogurt smoothies or protein shakes are also nice to have for when you need a “meal” but just don’t feel like eating anything (happens to me frequently when it’s hot).
Also, a quick PSA for everyone: please store all of your food in some kind of hard container, like a plastic tote/box with a secure lid, and never keep food in your tent - otherwise the chipmunks will find it!
