Greetings! You’re furiendly neighborhood panther here with your LaPine/Bend Weather/Fire Report!
Fires: There are a couple fires burning in the area. The one directly visible from the Ogden Campground (CFT) is called the Wickieup Reservoir Fire apx. 20mi away. While there is no immediate danger to Ogden Campground there is a lot of smoke in the area. If you have lung issues, remember to pack your medications.
Weather: The local news station KTVZ has also reported low night temperatures near La Pine are ranging between upper 30s and lower 40s. Remember to pack warm clothes for overnight. Also, there is a 30% chance of thundershowers on Thursday night. This means potential for locally heavy rains and/or thunder-strikes that could spark a fire or two.
